As responsible dog owners, we find it hard to believe that there are people out there that neglect or abuse dogs. Unfortunately, this happens and many of these dogs are often abandoned by their owners and end up living as strays. Some are found in such horrible conditions that they're euthanized to prevent them from suffering any further.
A Pit Bull puppy named Paige was abandoned by her owners outside in the freezing weather. When rescuers found her, Paige had no hair on her body and she had one of the worst cases of mange that the vet ever saw. Paige was also terrified and broken that she never wanted to leave her crate.
It's heartbreaking to see that such a young dog has suffered so much. After getting assessed by the vet, Paige was given medications to help manage the pain she felt and also to treat her mange. Paige was given so much love by her rescuers and she spent most of her time sleeping next to a heater.
After a few days at the animal shelter, Paige was taken in by a woman named Nicole from PIPs Rescue. Paige got all sorts of treatment to help her heal. Nicole rubbed medicated cream and honey on her skin and she wrapped Paige's body with bandages.
After a few days, Paige started to feel a lot better that she crawled out of her crate to explore her foster home for a bit. Paige even discovered the joy of laying down on the couch and cuddling next to her foster mom. Eventually, Paige became well enough to finally get adopted.
A woman named Veronica was following Paige's story and as soon as Paige was ready for adoption, Veronica immediately applied. Now, Paige is a happy dog who loves playing tug-of-war with her new mom. It's hard to believe that she's that same hairless puppy that was rescued a few months before. Here's a heartwarming video featuring Paige's rescue, recovery, and how she found her forever home.
