Chris Evans is known to have an incredible bond with his rescue dog, Dodger, who frequently appears on his Instagram feed. Dodger is well-known among Evans’ fans, who adore him and were recently moved to tears of joy after learning how Evans met Dodger. In honor of National Rescue Dog Day in the United States, Chris Evans shared a video of his first meeting with Dodger on Instagram.
The Avengers: Endgame actor shared a video of himself petting Dodger at a rescue shelter filming a project. The actor also mentioned that he intended to rescue a dog when he met Dodger. Evans wrote in his Instagram caption, “This is when I first met Dodger. I was in Savannah filming a movie, and one of the scenes took place in a shelter. I had no plans to rescue a dog that day, but the moment I saw him, I knew he would be part of my life.”
The actor also encouraged his fans to adopt a dog to commemorate National Rescue Dog Day. “There are so many dogs at shelters who are in desperate need of a home and ready to provide love,” he wrote. So visit a shelter and take a best friend with you.”
Evans adopted Dodger in 2017 while he was filming the movie Gifted. Evans is known to consider Dodger his best friend, which is frequently reflected in his social media posts, where he’s seen sharing fun conversations between him and his dog, including discussions about going for a walk at the dog park.
