Howard and Katelyn Newstate share an RV with their two dogs, Piper and Ella. They visit the United States, Canada, and Mexico. And on a trip to Isla Aguada, they met Scout, a stray dog who would change their lives.
Katelyn was on the beach when the dog approached her and sat down on the sand directly in front of her. She thought she was adorable and wanted to play with her. Katelyn spent a few minutes with her before returning to their camp because she was so friendly.
Katelyn was smitten and she hoped to see Scout again the next day. And when she opened the door of the RV the following morning, the dog was right there, waiting. She was ecstatic.
From that point, Scout started hanging out with her newfound friends. She played fetch with Kately and Howard. She enjoyed spending time with them.
Scout didn’t have a collar on and she was malnourished and dirty. She had wounds and cuts all over her body, too. So for the time being, the couple made sure to nourish the stray and help get her healthy.
For two months, Katelyn and Howard fed Scout. They even had her vaccinated. They’ve fallen in love with her so they decided to keep her in spite of the limited space they have. But when they actually tried to put a leash on her, the dog ran away, and that’s when they learned she had a family.
Katelyn was devastated. She thought she could keep Scout but she was wrong. And then, a man approached them and told her that if they love the dog, they could keep her. He was the head of the family and he explained that they could not keep up with the dog’s needs and he believed she’ll have a better life with them.
The couple couldn’t believe what they just heard. They were excited to travel with Scout, and they were surprised to see how good she was on the road. She was made for them, she was meant to be with them.
